Installing the MICROS Retail OSCAR POS

Before the MICROS Retail OSCAR POS Database System can be operated, the various system specific basic data has to be maintained. As a rule, the system data of the entire User Network is defined and set up by the MICROS Support staff at the time of installation and updated afterwards from any modification of the system configuration.

The user has to set up at least one Installation with a System Unit. For each installation, a hierarchical structure has to be defined with the individual system units such as master and backup-master, and with Processing Units such as server, client, and Daemon programs.

Special Devices which are needed to operate the MICROS Retail OSCAR POS program can be connected.
