Chapter 90: Copying Retail Item Upload Records (CRIU)

Purpose: Use this menu option to copy item upload records in a specified unpacked file to a specified packed file.

You can use this menu option if you send item upload records from your retail system to an unpacked file on the iSeries, such as the Retail Integration Item Upload Unpack file. In order to process item upload records the records must exist in the Retail Integration Item Upload file. You can use this menu option to copy the item upload records from the Retail Integration Item Upload Unpack file to the Retail Integration Item Upload file.

What if a record in the packed file matches a record in the unpacked file? The system allows you to have duplicate records in the unpacked file. If a record in the packed file matches a record in the unpacked file, the system does not overlay the existing record in the packed file. Instead, all records in the unpacked file are added to the end of the packed file. The Retail Item Upload process validates that the records in the Retail Integration Item Upload file are unique; see Working with Retail Integration Item Upload (RIIU).

Note: This menu option only copies records, it does not perform any edits.

How to display this screen: Enter CRIU in the Fast Path at the top of any menu or select Copy Retail Item Upload Records from a menu.

Field	Description
From File	The unpacked file from which the system copies records to the specified packed file. The Retail Integration Item Upload Unpack file (RIUNPP) defaults, but you can override it. Alphanumeric, 10 positions; required.
From Library	The library where the unpacked file is located. The library for the company you are currently in defaults, but you can override it. Alphanumeric, 10 positions; required.
To File	The packed file to which the system sends records from the specified unpacked file. The Retail Integration Item Upload file (RIIUPP) defaults, but you can override it. Alphanumeric, 10 positions; required.
To Library	The library where the packed file is located. The library for the company you are currently in defaults, but you can override it. Alphanumeric, 10 positions; required.
Clear UNPACKED file after copy?	Indicates whether the system deletes the records in the unpacked file once the records are copied to the specified packed file. Y (default) = Delete the records in the specified unpacked file once the records are copied to the specified packed file. N = Keep the records in the specified unpacked file once the records are copied to the specified packed file. Alphanumeric, 1 position; required.

Screen Option	Procedure
To copy the file	Press F9 to start the copy process. The system submits the job RI_COPY.
