Chapter 47: Printing the Warehouse Utilization Report (MWUT)

Purpose: The Warehouse Utilization Report evaluates the percentage of each warehouse location that is currently being used to stock inventory, and the percentage of the entire warehouse that is being used. This report can be used for a variety of reasons including assistance in determining whether:

• you need more or less overall warehouse space

• the warehouse locations should be reconfigured to maximize overall utilization

• inventory should be transferred from bulk locations to secondary, or primary locations

• inventory should be transferred to another warehouse

A detailed version and a summary version of the report are available. The detailed version of the report provides information about each warehouse location, summary information for each Zone and Aisle, and final totals for the warehouse.

The summary version of the report is not currently implemented.

Additionally, the report can be run for selected zones in the warehouse, and for selected aisles within zones.

Note: This report is designed for use with warehouse locations that are comprised of zone, aisle, shelf, and bin elements. If your warehouse locations are defined using free-form codes, the zone and aisle selections cannot be used and zone and aisle totals will not be provided.

Field	Description
Warehouse	The code of the warehouse to evaluate and report. The report is run for one warehouse at a time. The code entered is validated against the Warehouse file; see Chapter 41: Creating and Maintaining Warehouses (WWHS). Numeric, 3 positions; required.
Print Location Detail	Indicates whether the detail version or summary version of the report will be produced. Y - the detail version of the report will be run. Utilization information about each warehouse location in the selected zones and aisles will be reported. Summary information will be provided for each aisle and zone. Final warehouse totals will also be provided. N - the summary version of the report will be run. This report version is not currently implemented. Alphanumeric, 1 positions; required.
Zones	The codes of the zones you want to include on the report. Only the zones entered will be reported. Valid zone codes must be entered. All warehouse zones are reported if no zone selections are made. Alphanumeric, 2 positions; required only if you are making aisle selections.
Aisles	The codes of the aisles you want to include on the report. Only the aisles entered in the zones selected above will be reported. Valid aisle codes must be entered. All aisles are reported if no aisle selections are made. If you wish to run the report for selected aisles only, you must also enter zone selections. Numeric, 2 positions; optional.

Step-by-step instructions: To print the Warehouse Utilization Report:

1. Enter the code of the warehouse you want to report.

2. Enter Y in the Print location detail field to print the detail version.

3. Optionally, enter the codes of the zones you want to include on the report.

4. Optionally, enter the codes of the aisles you want to include on the report. Zone codes are required if you are making aisle code selections.

5. The system generates the report and displays the following message:
