Chapter 102: Working with Store Ranks (WSTR)

Purpose: Use Work with Store Ranks to set up and maintain retail store ranks, or to print a list of store ranks.

About store ranks: Rank is a way of sorting stores (by size, volume of business, or any other method you define). You can assign a rank to each store in Creating and Maintaining Warehouses (WWHS), and use rank as a quick way of assigning a group of stores to a promotion at the Work with Store Promotion Assignment Screen.

About minimum maximum: Store rank is also used to define minimum and maximum quantities for restocking the items in a promotion; these quantities override each store's regular min/max quantities when you generate a restock order during a promotion.

• Store S of rank 1 has min/max quantities for Beach towels specified as 10/20 in the store's item warehouse.

• A summer promotion specifies min/max quantities for Beach towels as 25/50 for all rank 1 stores.

• A restock order generated within the time of the promotion's min/max override Start and End dates will be based on min/max quantities 25/50.

 

Note: The system will use the highest minimum and the highest maximum specified in either the store's item warehouse record, or the item promotion record for stores of that rank; the system will take the highest minimum from either record and the highest maximum from either record. See Chapter 108: Working with Retail Store Restock (WRSR).

Work with Store Ranks screen

How to display this screen: Enter WSTR in the Fast path field at the top of any menu, or select Work with Store Ranks from a menu.

Field	Description
Rnk (Rank)	This code identifies the store rank. Alphanumeric, 1 position; optional.
Description	A description of the rank code. Alphanumeric, 30 positions; optional.

Screen Option	Description
Create a store rank	Press F6 to advance to the Create Store Rank Screen.
Change a store rank description	Enter 2 next to a store rank to advance to the Change Store Rank Screen.
Delete a store rank	Enter 4 next to a store rank to delete it.
Display a store rank	Enter 5 next to a store rank to advance to the Display Store Rank Screen.

Create Store Rank Screen

Purpose: Use this screen to create a store rank.

How to display this screen: Press F6 at the Work with Store Ranks screen.

Field	Description
Rank	A code which identifies the rank you want to create. Alphanumeric, 1 position. Create screen: required. Change screen: display-only.
Description	A description of the rank. Alphanumeric, 30 positions; required.

Change Store Rank Screen

To change: Enter 2 next to a store rank at the Work with Store Ranks screen to advance to the Change Store Rank screen. At this screen, you can change the description of the rank. For a description of the fields, see Create Store Rank Screen.

Display Store Rank Screen

To display: Enter 5 next to a store rank at the Work with Store Ranks screen to advance to the Display Store Rank screen. You cannot change any information on this screen. For a description of the fields, see Create Store Rank Screen.
