Understanding Oracle Documaker Product Components
Oracle Documaker is a key application suite within Oracle’s EDA solution set.The primary design tools in Oracle Documaker are Documaker Studio and Documaker Add-In for Microsoft Word. Documaker Interactive can be used to edit or enter content in a document. Final output can be published using Documaker Server or Documaker Factory.
There are two aspects for accessibility considerations in Oracle Documaker:
- The ability to use the tools and configure the document publishing process to produce accessible output.
- The ability for the tools themselves to operate with accessibility features in mind.

Oracle Documaker helps to enhance the accessibility of your communications through its design tools, enriched portable document format (PDF) generation capabilities, and mobile enablement support.
Oracle Documaker provides a solid template based form design system which has declarative attributes which helps in defining important properties such as page titles, field labels, etcetera. Oracle Documaker provides the underlying technology through it’s suite of applications by being coded to meet accessibility standards. This in turn allows these products to support the use of assistive technologies, such as screen readers and screen magnifiers. The generated output can be made to meet the needs of users with different abilities.
Some of the highlights of Oracle Documaker accessibility features include:
- Alternative text for figures and icons.
- Table headings and descriptions for all the tables defined in Documaker applications.
- Highlighting reference links.
Oracle's goal is to ensure that specially challenged users can perform the same tasks, and access the same functionality as other users.
