Enter Work Breakdown

Use the Edit Work Breakdown page to enter the budget after a project is created on the system.

At first, the Edit Work Breakdown page shows a single line item. The Description column displays the Contract Description entered on the Project Settings page, and the Work Breakdown Value Amount column shows the Original Contract Value.

The Work Breakdown (WB) is your project's budget within the system. As a Head Contractor, you may only need a single line item. You will need to add lines to the WB to show a detailed budget (work breakdown) and progress claim if you:

Either upload the budget or enter a detailed budget (work breakdown) manually.

If Your Budget:

Use This Method to Enter an WB:

  • Is currently in Excel
  • Is not in Excel, but has more than 20 lines

Upload Budget

See Uploading New WB from CSV for step-by-step instructions.

  • Is not in Excel and has fewer than 20 lines

Enter WB Manually

See Breaking Out the WB Manually for step-by-step instructions.

  • Uses Special Budgets
  • Uses Progress Claim Codes, Breakout Codes, or Handling Codes

Want to know more about these codes? See Setup Claim Codes and Assign Claim Codes for more details.

Contact your implementation team to find out the best way to enter your budget if the project uses these settings.

Note: Only users with the Project Manager role can edit an WB.

See User Roles for Head Contractors for more on user roles and permissions.

This is the sixth and final step in the Create Project workflow.
