Managing Subcontracts
A contract can be updated before or after a Subcontractor accepts a contract on the system. As a Head Contractor, use the Contract Maintenance page to update the contract.
Choose Edit Settings
To change the subcontract, select the Edit Settings button.
The Contract Settings appear on the page.
- Project Retention Mode
- Line Item—Holds retention against individual progress claim lines
- Contract—Holds retention against a total billed amount
Note: All Australian projects should use Contract Level Retention
- Stepped Retention Values—The retention rates for the contract
See Configuring Subcontract Retention for more details about how retention is calculated. - Bank Guarantee Value—If a Subcontractor has provided a bank guarantee in lieu of all or part of their retention on a project, enter the dollar value of the bank guarantee.
- Open Book—This setting to allows Above the Line (ATL) project participants to view details of the subcontract.
- Contract Date—The date the contract takes effect.
- Use Specified Billing—This setting allows you to create and manage Subcontractor's progress claim.
- You control the Subcontractor billing amounts.
- The Subcontractor electronically signs the claim and supporting documents.

Textura Payment Accelerator program Status
If a project is included in a Textura Payment Accelerator program (TPA), the Contract Maintenance page shows the TPA status.
- TPA Enrollment Status—Indicates the Subcontract TPA eligibility
Enrolled—The subcontract is paid through a TPA
Eligible—A TPA is available for this subcontract, but the Subcontractor has not enrolled
Ineligible—The Subcontractor is not eligible for a TPA
Disabled—A TPA is not available for this subcontract
Note: The rate for the Subcontractor is shown in parentheses next to the TPA Enrollment Status
- TPA Enrollment Disabled—Choose this setting when a subcontract should not be offered enrollment in a TPA.

- Sub WB Option
- None:
- The Subcontractor controls Work Breakdown (WB)
- The system does not notify you when the Subcontractor modifies the WB
- Review WB:
- This setting means the system notifies the you any time the Subcontractor changes the WB
- Specified WB:
- This setting allows you to control the Subcontractor's WB
Note: This will not give you control of the WB for any of the Suppliers or Subcontractors working for the Subcontractor.
- Create and change the items, descriptions, original WB amounts, and adjust WB amounts for subcontracts
- Allocate Subcontract Variations to the Subcontractor's WB
- Reallocate payments across the Subcontractor's WB
- The Subcontractor cannot edit the WB
- You do not control the WB for Sub-Tier Subcontractors

- This setting allows you to control the Subcontractor's WB
- None:
- Display Units—This setting allows units of measure and quantity data to display on payment claims.
Note: Display Units must be selected as a project setting, in order to manage unit related information in subcontracts, including adjusting unit and quantity columns.
- Discount Terms—Cash discount settings
- The discount rate (%)
- The number of days the subcontract must meet to trigger the discount
- The trigger date
- Progress Claim Date
- Beginning of Next Month

- Subcontractor cannot modify retention—This setting prevents Subcontractors from changing the retention
- Progress Claim Approval Method
- Standard Progress Claim Approval—This method allows any Progress Claim Approver assigned to the project to approve Subcontractor claims
- Parallel Signatory Approval—This method requires multiple users who must approve Subcontractor claims
- Serial Signatory Approval—This method requires multiple users and designates the order they must approve Subcontractor claims
Caution: All Australian projects should use Serial Signatory Approval.
- Calculate Payment Due Date—This setting generates the date a Head Contractor should disburse payments to a Subcontractor
Note: If the project includes Payment Due Date (PDD) settings, customising a Payment Due Date only replaces the project-level settings for the subcontract.
- Calculate Payment Due Date—The trigger to calculate the payment date
- Offset Days (+)—Enter the number of days a Subcontractor payment is after the selected PDD trigger

Contact Customer Support to use any of the following settings on a subcontract.
- Bonding Institution—The institution providing the bond
- Bond Amount—The amount of the bond
- Expiry Date—The expiration date
Prior Off-System Period/Payment Information
- Number of Manual Periods Submitted Outside of TPM
- Number of Periods Paid Outside of TPM
- Most Recent HC Period Paid
- Period End Date
