Transferring Reports Between Environments

Multiple user-defined reports (UDRs) can be transferred between Unifier environments.

  1. Go to Company Workspace > Admin mode > Configuration Package Management > Component List.
  2. Click Create.
  3. Go to Company Workspace > User Defined Reports.
  4. Select your reports.
  5. Enter a value in the Name field (top left).
  6. (Optional) Click Error Check to see if there are any dependencies.
  7. Click Save.

    Note: You can use the Save As option if you want to copy the component list.

  8. Go to Company Workspace > Admin mode > Configuration Package Management > Configuration Packages (to create a configuration package).
  9. Click Create.
  10. Enter values in the Package Name, File name (zip file name), and Components Lists.
  11. Select the component list related to your selected report.
  12. In the New Configuration Package window click Next. The window displays a preview of your reports.
  13. Click Next. In case of errors, you will see messages, if no errors are detected, then respond to the following:
    • Do you want to publish this package for production?
    • Download package after creation.
  14. Click Create to create the configuration package.
  15. Import the configuration package into the destination environment to transfer the reports.

If your company has custom report in a Program, Project, or Shell developed through Oracle Business Intelligence Publisher (BI Publisher), the custom reports will be available under the Custom node (User mode > Reports > Custom > [Report Name]).

Note: You must have permission to access custom reports in User mode.

To run a custom report in a Program, Project, or Shell:

  1. Open the Program, Project, or Shell.
  2. Switch to User mode.
  3. In the Navigator, click Reports > Custom > [Report Name]. The Reports log shows the list of available custom reports, if you have permission to access.
  4. The Report Settings Page will open in the right-hand pane.
  5. In the Template and Format section, select an output format.
  6. In the lower-right corner of the Report Page, click Run Report to generate the report in the selected format.

    Note: The print output is based on your permissions to certain data in Unifier.

Custom node

The Custom node, under the Reports node in the left-hand navigator, includes both the Internal Reports and the External Reports.

When you select and open an Internal Report, the Internal Report log window opens and contains the following columns:

Running an External Report

When you run an External Report in the User mode, Unifier accesses the BI Publisher server and the External Report output will be based on the latest design of the report in the BI Publisher server. Unifier does not store any data related to the External Report content such as model, format, layout, and so forth.

When you open an External Report, the Report Settings window opens, which contains fields related to the External Report parameters (listed in the Parameters section of the window), and fields related to the template and format for the External Report (Available Templates and Available Formats). The User can set the External Report attributes in the Reports Settings window.
