Modelling Salary Packages for Applicants

This topic discusses how to define applicant salary packages.

If you use PeopleSoft Recruiting Solutions to track and administer applicants, you can create a salary package for applicants before you hire them. After you hire the applicant, Recruiting Solutions can copy the applicant salary package information into their employee record.

Note: The Applicant Salary Package component is similar to the Employee Salary Package component. The functions are the same with some exceptions. The system does not perform checks against employee job and employee tax records, as those records do not exists for applicants. Another difference is the start date. In applicant package modelling, the start date defaults to the package model effective date. Variation exists when defining the packaging options because an applicant does not have a job record from which to default package and tax information.

Set up salary package model information for applicants using the Applicant Salary Package component in the same way that you set up salary package model information for employees (using the Employee Salary Package component). All of the information on this page is identical to the information on the corresponding page for employees.
