Setting Up Guided Search for Create Requisition

Guided search uses Relevance Weighted Sort to dynamically push the items with the highest total weight to the top of the Create Requisition: Search Results Page.

Follow these steps to set up the Guide Search for Create Requisition:

  1. Use the existing EPPV6500 (ePro Fluid Administrator) permission list to access these setup pages.

  2. Use the Deploy Search Definition page (PeopleTools > Search Framework > Administration > Deploy Search Objects) to deploy Search Definition and Search Category for the search instance PTSF_DEFAULT. Select the associated checkboxs for the following Search Definitions and Search Categories and click Deploy button.

    1. On the Deploy Search Definition tab, deploy EP_PV_EXPRESSITEMS_SD, EP_PV_MASTERITEMVENDOR_SD, and EP_PV_MASTERITEM_SD definitions.

    2. On the Deploy Search Category tab deploy the EP_PV_MASTERITEMVENDOR_CAT definition.

  3. Use the Schedule Search Index page (PeopleTools > Search Framework > Administration > Schedule Search Index) to run the full indexing for EP_PV_EXPRESSITEMS_SD, EP_PV_MASTERITEMVENDOR_SD, and EP_PV_MASTERITEM_SD definitions. This runs the connected query and populates Open Search with the data from PeopleSoft.

  4. Use the Manage Weighted Sort Rules page (Employee Self Service homepage > eProcurement Tile > Administrative Tasks tile > Weighted Sort Rules tile) to create new or active existing sort rules.

  5. Use the Assign Role Actions To Roles page (eProcurement > Administer Procurement > Maintain System Users and Roles > Assign Role Actions to Roles > select the Transaction as Requisition > Search > select ePro Admin role) to assign and enable the APPLY_WEIGHTED_SORT action for the ePro Admin - Role Action Category REQSRH.

  6. Use the eProcurement Installation Options – Search Settings page (eProcurement > Administer Procurement > Maintain Overall System Options > eProcurement Installation Options > Search Settings) to configure sort option. In the Sort Option Configuration section, enable Relevance sort checkbox and select Relevance for the Initial Sort drop-down.
