Getting Familiar with the User Interface

The web user interface of Oracle Developer Cloud Service comprises of the branding bar, navigation bar, and the page area.

The common elements of an Oracle Developer Cloud Service page include:

  • Navigation bar: The project navigation bar is available on the left side of the page and enables you to navigate to other pages of Oracle Developer Cloud Service.

  • Show/Hide navigation bar: Click to show or hide the navigation bar.

  • Brand name: Oracle Developer Cloud Service brand name.

  • Help: Opens the help menu.

  • User: Opens the user menu.

  • Search box: Search across artifacts of the open page.

Branding Bar

The branding bar displays the Oracle Developer Cloud Service product name, help icon, and the user menu.

The following table describes the key information and elements shown on the branding bar.

Show/Hide Menu Menu

Click to show or hide the navigation bar.

Oracle logo Developer Cloud Service

Product name.

Click to navigate back to the Welcome page.

Help Help

Click to open the Help menu. The menu has the following options:

  • Help for This Page: Opens the help topic of the open page

  • Get Started: Opens the home page of the Oracle Developer Cloud Service Help Center

  • Videos: Opens the Videos page of the Oracle Developer Cloud Service Help Center

  • Tutorials: Opens the Tutorials page of the Oracle Developer Cloud Service Help Center

user name

User name of the logged in user.

Click to open the user menu. See User Menu.

Below the branding bar, the following elements are available in the project bar.

Element Description

Project name Switch Project

Name of the open project.

Click Project name Switch Project to open the Switch Project menu and open another project.

Search box

Use to search for artifacts on the open page.

Project Navigation Bar

The project navigation bar is displayed on the left side of the page and enables you to navigate between different pages of Oracle Developer Cloud Service.

The following table describes the options of the navigation bar.

Project Home Project

Displays the recent activities feed, Git and Maven repository URLs, news feed, and team members of the project.

Git Code

Displays the Git source code repositories and enables you to view files and commits, manage branches and tags, and compare the source code of files.

Maven Maven

Displays the project Maven repository and enables you to view, upload, and search artifacts.

Environments Environments

Displays project’s environments and their service instances.

Releases Releases

Displays the Release configurations of the project and enables you to download release artifacts.

Snippets Snippets

Displays the snippets created by you or shared by project members.

Merge Requests Merge Requests

Displays the merge requests of the project and enables you to review the code.

Issues Issues

Displays issues of the project and enables you to create and manage tasks, defects, and new features.

Boards Agile

Displays Agile boards and enables you to manage project issues using the Agile methodology.

Builds Build

Displays project jobs and enables you to run builds.

Deployments Deploy

Displays deployment configurations and enables you to deploy project artifacts to Oracle Java Cloud Service, Oracle Application Container Cloud Service, and Oracle Java Cloud Service - SaaS Extension.

Docker Docker Registry

Displays the linked Docker registries of the project that project members can browse.

Wiki Wiki

Displays wiki pages of the project.

Project Settings Administration

Enables you to configure the project properties. The Project Settings option is visible to project owners only.

In the navigation bar, click Hide Labels Show/Hide Labels to collapse the navigation bar to hide labels and show icons only. Click Show Labels Show/Hide Labels to expand the navigation bar to show both icons and labels.

User Menu

From the user menu, you can open the Organization Administration pages, set your account preferences, and sign out of Oracle Developer Cloud Service.

The following options are available in the user menu.

Option Description

User name

Name and email address of the logged in user.

Organization

Administer the organization. The option is visible to users with the DEVELOPER_ADMINISTRATOR (Developer Service Administrator) identity domain role.

Sign Out

Sign out of the service. In the Sign Out page, click OK to confirm.

Search Box

At the top of each page, a Search box is available that you can use to search artifacts of that page.

The Search box is available in all pages of Oracle Developer Cloud Service, but it is disabled for some. The following table lists all pages of Oracle Developer Cloud Service where the Search box is enabled.
