Updating Data with the Assistant

Use the Change Management Assistant to create and modify requests and request items using natural language prompts. The assistant translates your intent into structured changes, allowing you to review, refine, and manage those updates.

Add nodes
  • Add a new node "Texas" under parent "USA".
  • Add node Southeast as a top node.
Insert nodes
  • Insert node APAC as a top node.
  • Insert node Credit Services under parent Financials.
  • Find cost center 461 and 462 and insert them under account 60240
Copy nodes

Note:

You can copy a node using the assistant, but the assistant cannot rename the new node. Use the property pane to update the name of the new node.
Copy cost center 220.
Model after a node in the same viewpoint.

Note:

Model after operations in related viewpoints are not supported by the assistant.
Model after 7910 to 7940 including properties summary, account type, allow posting, enabled, and hierarchy name.
Move nodes
  • Move department 425 under parent Sales Director 1
  • Move department 425 from parent Sales Director 1 to parent Sales Director 2
  • Change the parent of all nodes with code starting "100-" to "Finance".
Update node properties
  • Update all cost centers in region EMEA to status Active.
  • Update the Owner property to "Casey Brown" for all nodes approved last week.
Remove nodes
  • Remove top node EMEA.
  • Remove Taiwan under APAC.
Delete nodes Delete 34000.
Clear node properties Clear Account Type from node 408.

Note:

The assistant does not support these actions:
  • Reorder nodes under a parent.
  • Rename nodes.
  • Model after nodes in a related viewpoint.

After you initiate a query to update data, if the request attempt is successful the assistant initiates the following tasks:

  1. Creates a request and request items based on your query. Click the request link to view the request on the Requests pane. See Working with the Requests Pane.
  2. Adds a request file attachment with details about the request items. You can view and download the attachment from the Request Details pane. See Reviewing Request File Attachments.

If the request attempt is not successful, the assistant provides information on the issues that were encountered and how to correct them.

Tip:

Click the Undo Undo these request actions to undo the request actions. After confirming, the assistant removes the associated request actions from the request.
