Working with Oracle Integration Cloud Integrations

Oracle Integration Cloud integrations enable you to synchronize enterprise data between Oracle Fusion Cloud Enterprise Data Management and other business applications.

After you create an OIC global connection, you can register OIC integrations in Cloud EDM. You can then run the integrations from either OIC or Cloud EDM and monitor their progress and history.

Prerequisites

Before you register and run an OIC integration in Cloud EDM:

  • Create and configure the integration in Oracle Integration Cloud.

  • Configure the integration with a connection to Cloud EDM. The Cloud EDM user configured for the connection must have the appropriate permissions to perform the Cloud EDM operations included in the integration, such as extracts, imports, exports, and loads.

  • To record integration runs and their associated operations in Cloud EDM integration history, configure the OIC integration to use the Cloud EDM integration history APIs and the integrationHistoryId parameter. See Recording Integration History for Oracle Integration Cloud Integrations.

Process Flow

  1. Create an OIC global connection.

Create a global connection to the OIC environment that contains the integrations that you want to make available in Cloud EDM. The OAuth confidential client configured for the global connection must have the ServiceUser role at a minimum in OIC. For an integration in an OIC project, grant the Can Edit project permission to Everyone. See Creating Global Connections.

  2. Assign the Integrations - Manage granular role.

Grant the Integrations - Manage granular role to users who need to register, edit, run, or unregister OIC integrations. Service Administrators can also perform these tasks. See Understanding Granular Roles and Permissions.

  3. Register OIC integrations.

Register one or more OIC integrations in Cloud EDM. After an integration is registered, it appears on the Integrations page and can be run from Cloud EDM. See Managing Oracle Integration Cloud Integrations.

  4. Run the integration.

You can run a registered integration from Cloud EDM or run it directly from OIC (for example by using a schedule defined in OIC). See Running Oracle Integration Cloud Integrations.

  5. Monitor integration runs and review integration history.

Use Cloud EDM to monitor integration runs and review their status, messages, and actions. Integration history can include integrations that were run from Cloud EDM as well as integrations that are run directly from OIC when the integration is configured to use the Cloud EDM integration history APIs. See Viewing Integration History and Recording Integration History for Oracle Integration Cloud Integrations.
