Prerequisites

Before you start using the Bursting feature, you must review the following:

• You must ensure the report or book used in the bursting definition has a POV Dimension exposed (changeable) that can be used as a bursting POV dimension, if required.

• Create a Targeted Distribution File, if needed. In Narrative Reporting deployments, a sample bursting file, bursting_file_empty.csv, is available within the Reports Samples. For more information, see Installing Samples in Administering Narrative Reporting. In Oracle Fusion Cloud Enterprise Performance Management deployments, create a bursting file using the format outlined in Using a Targeted Distribution File.

• Prior to adding artifacts, verify the dimensions, prompts, and data sources for every artifact included in the definition.
• Ensure that you plan the output naming for multiple artifacts, where output locations or file names collide, and configure ArtifactName() or ArtifactDescription() in the applicable naming expression.
• Review the data-source order in Manage Data Sources.
