14 Working with the Job Console

The Narrative Reporting Job Console provides the ability to schedule various Jobs. Jobs allow you to automate service activities, like executing bursting definitions or performing report package data source refreshes.

You can schedule Jobs to run immediately or at a later date. You can also view and manage pending jobs and recent activity in the Job console.

Note:

Bursting Definitions should not be scheduled to run concurrently or in rapid succession. Adequate wait time between executions is necessary to prevent excessive use of server resources, which can degrade service response times—especially for bursting definitions that require longer processing times. In addition, parallel bursting definition executions by the same user can also affect performance due to resources being shared between executions.
