Adding "No<dimname>" Members

When you create rules in Enterprise Profitability and Cost Management, you must assign members to every dimension in the rule. See Dimension and Member Requirements When Creating Rules.

For dimensions that are not relevant in a rule, you still must assign a member. In this case, you assign a "No<dimname> " member, where <dimname> is the name of the dimension to which you are adding the member.

As a best practice, you should set up a "No<dimname>" member for the following dimensions before you start creating rules so that the member will be available during rule creation:

  • Entity

  • Account

  • Currency (if you have a multi-currency application)

  • Any custom dimensions that you have created

In the example below, a NoAccount member is assigned to the Account dimension.
