What are tactics?

Tactics are a new way to think about types of marketing campaigns.

Tactics allow you to build a campaign for a particular purpose in order to support your marketing campaigns. For example, perhaps you just need a single email send, or a send plus a resend. Maybe you need to send a series of emails to your users.

Whatever your need, there will likely be a tactic to support your initiative, and new ones are being added all the time.

Each tactic has a specifically crafted guided process, so that you just add the assets that you want to leverage and it will automatically create the campaign logic for you, allowing you to simply and easily get up and running.

How do I know which tactic to use?

These pages are designed to help you understand the current tactics that are present in Oracle Guided Campaigns, and how to use them. This will help you decide which tactic is right for your current needs.

Simple Email

A Simple Email tactic is just a single email send.

You would choose your audience (a segment from Eloqua) - or you can upload a .csv file to create one.

Next you choose your email, or create one from a template.

If desired you can automatically route engaged respondents onto a lead or opportunity qualification program.

Multi-Step Nurture

A Multi-Step Nurture tactic allows you to send a series of up to five emails to your audience.

If they engage with your emails, you can accelerate the speed in which they get the next email in the series.

All contacts will get all of the emails in the campaign, with the rate of delivery based on the level of user engagement.

After completion, you can push the contacts into a list, another Oracle Eloqua campaign or an contact program

Event Promotion

The Event Promotion tactic allows you send an invitation and a reminder to your audience.

You would choose a registration custom object (from Oracle Eloqua), which can be used to ascertain if your users receive the reminder email or not

After registration, you can decide a follow up action in Oracle Eloqua, such as add to a list, push them into a follow up campaign, or push them into a contact program

Targeted Account Selling

The Targeted Account Selling tactic allows you send a two email sequence to your audience and automatically drive engaged contacts to an Opportunity qualification program.

You would choose your two emails, or create new emails from existing templates.

In the Rules you can define what engagement looks like for your campaign. Contacts who meet your engagement criteria will be pushed to your Opportunity Qualification program (if selected).

For your second email you can choose to wait a defined period, or send your second email on a specific date/time.
