Managing Roles and User Access for administering the CX Tag

The following section enables you to determine and assign roles, along with access rights for various users who will administer the CX Tag for your organization. The Settings pages enable you to grant the relevant roles, groups, and access rights. See Settings for more information.

The following roles are used to access the Data Collection application:

Role Description

Tag Viewer

The Viewer role grants the user View privileges for all tags created for the account. The user will be able to view the list of tags created, view metadata for each tag, configuration details, and plugins, if available for the module(s).

Tag Editor

The Editor role grants the user rights available to the Viewer role along with Create, Edit, and Update privileges for all the tags in the account. The user will be able to create a tag, edit a tag, update the tag configuration, clone a container, add a module, update the module configuration, and add and remove plugins, if available for the module(s).

Tag Administrator

The Administrator role grants the user rights available to the Viewer and Editor role along with additional capabilities to delete a tag or module, and publish a container to production. 

Tag Consultant

The Consultant role has all the user rights available to Viewer, Editor, and Administrator along with the advanced Tag administration options. 

Warning: The Tag Consultant role is specifically designed for advanced users to configure the advanced tag administration options. Access to this role should be only given to users with complete knowledge of these advanced tag administration options. Changes performed to these advanced tag administration options might impact your tag data collection.
