Sending a proof
You can send a proof email message to your inbox or to internal contacts to validate that it appears as intended before including it in your campaign.
Before sending a proof:

Fix all errors or warnings in the message. Select Actions > Show errors and warnings to view them.

You should set up your own proof group in Data Viewer. Proof groups enable you to have a pre-defined and reusable group for sending proof messages. A proof group typically consists of contacts with email address that you will use to send the proof email. These could be your co-workers or test email addresses that you use. The contacts in the group should be set up with values for attributes that you use in personalization. For example, if you personalize by City, ensure the proof contacts have a city set.

Recipient activities for a proof message such as opens and clicks will not be recorded in Insight.
To send a proof email message:
- Click
from any page in Responsys Express. - Click Messages.
- Create a message or open an existing one.
- Select Actions> Send Proof.
- Select which proof group you want to use to personalize your message.
- Choose who you want to receive the proof emails:
- Everyone in the proof group: This send your message to everyone in the proof group.
Send all personalized messages to specific email addresses: This will use the contact records in the proof group to personalize the message, but will only send the proof message itself to the email addresses you provide. If you choose this option, you must also choose the number of proof messages that should be sent to each email.
- In the Debugging section, select the options to display information that could help with troubleshooting in your proof.

Display attributes for personalization: Displays all data attributes and their associated values that were used to personalize the email. Attributes and values are added to the end of the proof message.

Troubleshoot personalization scripts: Prints your MPL debug code at the end of the proof message.
- Click Send.
