Proof groups
Proof groups provide a reusable group of test recipients, so that you can quickly select recipients to send a proof. Sending a proof lets you see how your message looks before you use it in a campaign. For example, you can validate that the variants and personalization attributes work as intended.

- Click
from any page in Responsys Express. - Use the search to find the Data Viewer option, or click Data Viewer from the menu.
You'll be redirected to the Data Viewer page.
- Click the Proof Groups tab.
- In the Proof Groups region, click + to open the New proof group panel.
- Enter a name and description for the proof group.
Name and description are the only editable items for the proof group. Proof groups all use the same data model (attribute groups, attributes) as your Contact Data model.
- Click Create.
- Click
from any page in Responsys Express. - Use the search to find the Data Viewer option, or click Data Viewer from the menu.
You'll be redirected to the Data Viewer page.
- Click the Proof Groups tab.
- In the Proof Groups list, locate the proof group you want to edit.
- Click
> Edit. - Complete your edits, and then click Done.
Important: Verify with others who use proof groups before you delete a proof group. If a proof group is in use, deleting it will cause related proof launches to fail.
- Click
from any page in Responsys Express. - Use the search to find the Data Viewer option, or click Data Viewer from the menu.
You'll be redirected to the Data Viewer page.
- Click the Proof Groups tab.
- In the Proof Groups list, locate the proof group you want to delete.
- Click
> Delete. - On the confirmation dialog, click Delete to complete the action. A message at the bottom of the page confirms that the proof group was deleted.
To add a contact to a proof group:
- Click
from any page in Responsys Express. - Use the search to find the Data Viewer option, or click Data Viewer from the menu.
You'll be redirected to the Data Viewer page.
- Click Proof Groups, and then select the proof group to which you want to add the contact.
- Click Add Record +.
- Add the contact information and any data for the individual 1:1 attribute groups.
When you send a proof to the proof group, all applicable contacts in the proof group will receive email messages of the proof. We recommend that you add the following data for your proof group contacts:
Email address.
The same email address can be created in multiple proof groups, with different information in the attribute groups.
Set EMAIL PERMISSION STATUS attribute in the Basic Profile attribute group to
I(Opt-In).Any additional data you need for testing personalization, such as First Name and Last Name.
Any additional data you need for testing message variant conditions.
- Click Save.
- Repeat until you have added all your contacts to the contact group.
To view a proof group's contacts:
- Click
from any page in Responsys Express. - Use the search to find the Data Viewer option, or click Data Viewer from the menu.
You'll be redirected to the Data Viewer page.
- Click the Proof Groups tab.
- In the Proof Groups list, locate the proof group you want to view.
The proof group's contacts are displayed in the contacts table.
Viewing and managing Proof Groups contacts
You can perform the following actions in Data Viewer for your Proof Group contacts. These actions work similarly to how they work for Contact Data contacts.
