Defining Partner Options for Dynamic Content Modules

Navigation (for Account Administrators only): Select The Account icon Account on the side navigation bar. Select Campaign management, and then select DCM partner options. (Not seeing this choice? Refer to the Account management changes topic.)

Use this option to select and configure partner recommendation service tag(s) to make available for the dynamic content that may be used with a campaign. Once the account administrator has setup any necessary tags, the campaign builder can then customize the tag syntax as desired for use in your campaigns. (See Campaign Wizard/Dynamic Content page.)

What is Dynamic Content

The dynamic content feature defines and controls the content that is inserted into a campaign prior to a recipient receiving your campaign message or responding to an associated form.

This customer-centric content is compiled based on your defined dynamic content module rules, and their incorporation into your message and/or form.

Your campaign message and form contents include dynamic content regions that will be filled with different content for different recipients and form responders – depending upon the rules the campaign builder defines for these regions. NOTE: Dynamic content templates are reusable definitions of dynamic content that, dropped in place in such a region, are called dynamic content modules.

For campaign builders, see Understanding Dynamic Content and Managing Dynamic Content for step-by-step instructions.

What are Partner Recommendation Services Dynamic Content Tags

This feature allows you to take advantage of product and offer recommendation engines to insert highly targeted content in an email campaign (or more broadly a customer web site). By identifying purchase and browsing patterns, this technology can match collected data from one email recipient with data from similar recipients.

Notes

  • Use of this recommendation technology is made available by inserting image and anchor tags that control the view-time content and click-time redirect for each email recipient.
  • Tag content is automatically available to administrators. Each partner recommendation service that your account is associated with requires a uniquely defined HTML tag. As the administrator, your task is to customize the content for each tag as needed.
  • When used in an email, the email renders dynamic banner content in a strategic region of the message.
  • Administrators may edit the general partner tag template at any time. Typical edits might involve changing query string name/value pairs and image map tags and attributes for certain partners.

Feature Requirements

Support for this functionality requires implementation at two locations.

  1. Account administrator customizes each recommendation service tag for use in all campaigns with dynamic content.
  2. Via the Campaign Wizard Dynamic Content page, campaign builders then insert these partner recommendation tags into their dynamic content modules.
