Defining User Password Restrictions

You can define password requirements for all users of your Oracle Responsys account. Improve your account security by requiring strong passwords. Complexity requirements are enforced when passwords are changed or created.

You can configure the following requirements:

  • Minimum password length

  • Require at least one lowercase letter

  • Require at least one uppercase letter

  • Require at least one number

  • Require at least one of the following characters: !"#$%&'()*+,-./:;<=>?@[\]^_`{|}~

  • Require that the first and last characters must be non-numeric

  • Require that the password must not be the user name or user name in reverse

Note: Account passwords must be at least six characters long.

To define password requirements:

  1. From the side navigation bar, select Account . (If you do not see the side navigation bar, click the Menu button (aka Hamburger menu) icon.)
  2. Select General settings, and then select Password requirements.
  3. Choose the required settings.
  4. Click Save.

Complexity requirement changes take effect after you save them. They are enforced when passwords are changed or created.
