Update NetSuite Projects with OpenAir Project Data Field Mapping Definition

The Update NetSuite Projects with OpenAir Project Data export workflow includes one mapping group:

Update Project Mapping Group

Use the Update Project mapping group to map information on the project record in OpenAir with information on the project record in NetSuite. The mapping group supports filters.

For reference information and best practice guidelines, review the following topics:

  • References — Overview of record types in OpenAir and NetSuite with links to the relevant reference material for information about fields available for mapping.

  • Default and Custom Filters — Overview of default filters and how to modify the default behavior, and custom filters. Custom filters are supported for this mapping group.

  • Default Field Mapping — There are no default field mapping definitions for this mapping group.

  • Additional Field Mapping — There are no specific best practice guidelines for custom field mapping definitions. The mapping group does not support custom pullback field mappings, retrieving information from the record created in NetSuite back into OpenAir.

The following table gives reference information about the records and fields available for custom field mapping definition with links to the relevant reference material. See also Schema Reference Documentation.

  • If the Exclude reporting values from Update NetSuite projects with NS OpenAir project data box is enabled on the OpenAir NetSuite Connector administration form:

    • Record Type: Project [ project]

    • Data Dictionary: project

  • Otherwise, the OpenAir information is sourced from a detailed report. Refer to the UI for the list of report columns available for mapping.

See also Exclude reporting values from Update NetSuite projects with OpenAir project data.

Default and Custom Filters

By default, updated project information is exported from OpenAir to NetSuite if the following conditions are met:

  • Matching project records exists in OpenAir and NetSuite.

  • The Allow projects in this project stage to be updated in NetSuite [netsuite_push_project_stage_filter] box is checked on the project stage record associated with the OpenAir project.

Custom filters are supported for this mapping group. For more information about adding filter conditions, see Using Filters and Filter Definition.

Note:

Only standard and custom fields for the Project [ project] record type can be used in custom filters even if other fields (report values) are available for mapping.

If you want to update only projects at specific project stages, you should now use a custom filter condition instead of checking the Allow projects in this project stage to be updated in NetSuite [netsuite_push_project_stage_filter] box on the project stage records. However, the Allow projects in this project stage to be updated in NetSuite [netsuite_push_project_stage_filter] box method is still supported.

Additional Field Mapping

Important:

Review the following guidelines

  • You should contact your OpenAir Professional Services representative if you need to make changes to your integration configuration and field mapping definitions.

  • For advanced mapping usage and best practice guidelines, see Advanced Field Mapping Definition.

  • Familiarize yourself with the NetSuite and OpenAir technical documentation before attempting to set field mapping definitions using the advanced notation — See Schema Reference Documentation.

Advanced mappings are supported only if the Exclude reporting values from Update NetSuite projects with OpenAir project data box is checked under the Performance features section of the OpenAir NetSuite Connector administration form. See Exclude reporting values from Update NetSuite projects with OpenAir project data.
