Create a transaction during bank reconciliation

Create a bank deposit, expense, expense refund, or journal entry from the Review transaction drawer when an imported bank transaction has no matching transaction in QuickStart. Saving the new transaction also reconciles it with the imported activity and moves the imported transaction to the Reconciled tab.

Create the transaction

  1. Open Menu, select Banking, and then select Cash management.
  2. Select Bank & credit card reconciliation.
  3. Select the bank account that you want to reconcile.
  4. On the To reconcile tab, select Review for the imported transaction.
  5. In the Review transaction drawer, select the applicable action:
    • Select Categorize to let QuickStart create an expense or expense refund based on the direction of the imported transaction. Select the required Category and, for a bank account, the required Person or company. Enter a memo as needed.
    • For an incoming bank transaction, select Create > Bank deposit. Select the required Account for the Other funds line. Select a payee and enter a memo as needed.
    • Select Create > Journal entry. Select the required debit or credit account shown for the transaction direction and enter the required Journal entry purpose.
  6. When the Attachments section is available, you can attach up to 10 files. Each file can be up to 10 MB.
  7. Review the entered values, and then select Confirm.

QuickStart creates the transaction, reconciles it with the imported transaction, and moves the imported transaction to the Reconciled tab.
