Project Summary
The Project Summary feature uses generative AI to create the first draft of a status summary based on selected project reports. The generative AI uses live report information about the project as input data to generate content.
The functionality described in this help topic is available only if the Project Summary feature is enabled for your account, and if your role permits its usage. Account administrators control who can view project summaries, and who can generate project summaries using generative AI and edit project summaries by role permission.
SuiteProjects Pro uses a large language model (LLM) to generate project summaries. The summaries are objective, concise, and based strictly on the report data selected as input.
To learn more about the generative AI models, see the SuiteAnswers article LLM Mapping for SuiteProjects Pro Generative AI Features (External link to SuiteAnswers | Answer ID 1046110). Be aware that you must be logged in to SuiteProjects Pro to access articles in SuiteAnswers. You may also access articles about SuiteProjects Pro in SuiteAnswers if your company uses both NetSuite and SuiteProjects Pro and you're accessing SuiteAnswers from NetSuite.
You can select either one or all the following standard reports as input data to generate the summary:
-
Overview - The overview report includes project details, total resource hours and fees, total invoiced, budget tracking, and summary financial information relevant to your project. This is the report available from the Reports > Overview tab for the project.
Note:The Effective date for the overview report is always
Today. All other report options set for your project overview report are respected. -
Analysis - The financial analysis report includes financial performance data, budget details, income and cost analyses relevant to your project. This is the report available from the Financials > Analysis tab for the project.
Note:The Date range date for the financial analysis report is always
All. All other options set for your project financial analysis report are respected.
Every generated summary includes the following information:
-
Date - The current date in the authenticated user's preferred date format.
-
Project Status Overview - One or two paragraphs summarizing the current status of your project. The overview typically includes general project information such as the project name, customer, and project manager; key metrics to date; a brief overview of highlights and risks for the reporting period; and a recommended next step.
You can choose to include any of the following optional sections in the generated summary:
-
Highlights - Bullet list of key accomplishments for the reporting period, such as generated total income, profitability margin, or items available to be invoiced, for example.
-
Potential risks - Bullet list of key risks, such as no budget defined, or outstanding invoiced amount, for example.
Personally identifiable information (PII) such as employee names, customer names and project names are not sent to the LLM. SuiteProjects Pro replaces PII with placeholders before sending the request to the AI service, and after receiving the response from the AI service, replaces the placeholders with the original PII.
ISO 4217 currency codes are used for monetary values in the project summary and the source report data.
If the Project Summary feature is enabled for your company's SuiteProjects Pro account, and depending on your role, you can:
-
Create, generate, and save a summary for a project from the projects list by clicking the generate icon
under the Actions column, or from the project record using the Create menu. -
Provide feedback on the generated summary. We may use your feedback to improve the feature.
-
Keep multiple summaries created for the same project. You may want to keep project summaries at different times during the project lifecycle and refer to previous summaries to ensure consistency and continuity in your communication with project stakeholders, for example.
-
View the list of summaries for all the project you have access to (Projects > Project summaries) or for a specific project (Projects > Projects > [Select a project] > Project summary).
Tip:If the Next-Generation Homepage or Next-Generation Dashboards features are enabled for your company's SuiteProjects Pro account, you can add a portlet showing the project summaries list to your homepage or dashboard. For more information, see Getting Started with the Next-Generation Homepage and Dashboards.
