Return Tab

The Return tab allows the user to create and save a list of warehouse items that are currently in their local (van) warehouse and send them back to the technician’s default warehouse.

This tab contains two screens. One is known as the Return Item List screen, the next as the Add/Edit/Delete Return Item screen.

Return Item List screen in detail

This screen allows the user to view all of the returned items for the selected task.

Saving To Cloud indicator

To inform the user that the return item is being saved to the cloud.

After the Save button has been pressed until the data has been saved to the cloud.

Discard Changes button

To allow the user to clear any changes that have been made within the Return Item screen.

Shows the alert below.

If the user presses OK on the alert, then Field Service Mobile reverts the contents of all data entry fields back to the previous values.

If no data has been saved to the cloud for the current return item, then all data entry items will be set to default.

If data has been saved previously for the current return item, then all values revert to their previous values when the return data was last saved.

If the user presses Cancel on alert, then the alert is hidden, and no changes are made.

When there are unsaved changes in the Return Item list.

Shows the alert “Are you sure you want to discard your changes? OK. Cancel.”

Save button

To allow the user to save any changes that have been made within the Return Item List screen.

Saves all the data entered within the Return Item List screen for the selected task.

When there are unsaved changes in the Return Item list.

Add New Return Item button

Allows the user to navigate to the Add/Edit/Delete Return Item screen to add a new return item.

Shows the Add/Edit/Delete Return Item screen with the data entry items set to default values.

Always viewable but not active when the Saving To Cloud indicator is not visible.

Return Items list

To allow the user to see all return items that have been added for the selected task.

Return Item List entry

To show the basic information for each return item that has been added and to function as a button which, when pressed, allows the user to navigate to the Add/Edit/Delete Return Item screen so that they may view more detailed information about the return item.

Shows the Add/Edit/Delete Return Item screen.

When there are one or more return items added for the selected task.

Delete Return Item button

To allow the user to delete a previously saved returned item.

If the user presses OK, then the current new task for the current case is deleted and all values on the Add/Edit/Delete Return Item screen are reverted back to default values.

If user presses Cancel, then the alert is hidden, and no changes are made.

If the user has just saved the data for a received item or has just navigated to the Add/Edit/Delete Return Item screen by pressing on a Return Item List entry within the Return Item list and has not yet made any changes to the data entry fields on the Add/Edit/Delete Return Item screen.

Shows the alert “Are you sure you want to Delete? OK. Cancel”.

To allow the user to save any changes that have been made within the Add/Edit/Delete Return Item screen.

Once the Item dropdown list and the Quantity text field both contain valid data.

This field only allows the user to type numerals, decimal points or the letter “e”.

To be considered valid the value entered must not have a decimal point preceding another character or contain the letter “e”.
