Using the IFRS 18 Income Statement Layout
The IFRS 18 income statement layout helps you organize income statement information into IFRS 18 presentation categories. IFRS 18 is an International Financial Reporting Standard for presenting and disclosing information in financial statements. Use this layout with supported Income Statement reports.
IFRS 18 replaces IAS 1 requirements for presenting financial statements. It applies to annual reporting periods beginning on or after January 1, 2027.
NetSuite doesn't determine the appropriate classification for an account. Your organization determines the appropriate classification and configures the layout accordingly.
The IFRS18 Standard Income Statement Layout includes the following sections:
-
Operating
-
Investing
-
Financing
-
Income taxes
-
Discontinued operations
The layout also includes subtotal rows that summarize the income and expenses in the IFRS 18 presentation structure.
The sections are initially empty. Configure the filters that determine which accounts appear in each section. Use only income and expense accounts in the IFRS 18 income statement layout. For more information, Financial Statement Sections.
You can also add a formula row to display Gross Profit in the Operating section. Before you add the formula row, configure separate rows for revenue and cost of sales. For more information, see Editing a Financial Statement Formula Row.
For more information about customizing financial statements, see Financial Report Builder.
The following table shows accounts that might appear in each IFRS 18 section. Your organization determines the appropriate classification for each account.
