Updating Start Dates in the Budget Scenario Dimension

As a part of the ongoing maintenance process, you must change the start dates of the Budget Scenario in Planning and Budgeting. At the start of every month, update the start period to reflect the rolled forward period dates. At the start of every year, update the start year.

To update the start dates of a Scenario Dimension:

  1. Click the Navigator icon Screenshot of the Navigator icon in NSPB, and then select Dimensions.

  2. From the Dimension field, select Scenario.

A list of members for the Scenario dimension displays.

  3. Click NSP_Budget, and then click the Edit icon Edit icon.

    Important:

The Edit icon and the Edit Dimension icon have the same icon image, so ensure that you select the correct icon. If you are unsure of which icon to select, then hover over each icon to view the icon's text label.

The Edit Member page displays on the Member Properties tab, by default.

  4. If you are performing the monthly update, change the value for the Start Period list to the next starting month.

For example, if the new starting month is October, change the value from TP9 to TP10.

The year selected should match the current value of the NSP_PER_BudCurrYr substitution variable.

  5. If you are performing the annual update, change the value for the Start Yr list to the new year. Then change the value for the Start Period list to TP1.

The period selected should match the current value of the NSP_PER_BudCurrMo substitution variable.

  6. Click Save.
