Setting Text Enhance Preferences

The Text Enhance Preferences page is where users with the Administrator role can disable or enable Text Enhance for their company. You can also use this page to view monthly Text Enhance usage for the account or to configure NetSuite to use your company's Oracle Cloud account configuration for Text Enhance.

Text Enhance is a feature in NetSuite that uses generative AI to assist you with writing business content. For more information about using this feature, see Text Enhance.

See the following sections and topic for more information about using the Text Enhance Preferences page:

Enabling and Disabling Text Enhance

Note:

Text Enhance is enabled by default.

To disable or enable Text Enhance for an account:

  1. Go to Setup > Company > AI > Text Enhance.

  2. From the Text Enhance Preferences page:

    • Clear the Enable Text Enhance box to disable Text Enhance.

    • Check the Enable Text Enhance box to enable Text Enhance.

Viewing Text Enhance Usage for an Account

By default, Text Enhance includes a pool of limited, free usage. The free usage pool is renewed each month and is shown in the usage table on the Text Enhance Preferences page.

If your company wants unlimited usage, you must set up an Oracle Cloud account with Oracle Generative AI service. For more information about setting up the unlimited usage option, see Using Your Own OCI Configuration for Text Enhance.

To view Text Enhance usage for an account:

  1. Go to Setup > Company > AI > Text Enhance.

  2. Locate the usage table. The usage table shows the following information:

    • Month: Usage month and year.

    • Usage Limit: Number of Text Enhance uses available for the account during the month.

    • Used Quantity: Number of times that NetSuite users have used the Generate, Clean Up, Make Shorter, and Make Longer actions of Text Enhance during the month. NetSuite only counts actions that use the generative AI service successfully. All completed actions are counted, even if the user does not save the result. Undo and Redo actions are not counted, nor are unsuccessful attempts to access Text Enhance.

Examples of how NetSuite updates Used Quantity:

      • A user selects Generate and gets a result, edits the result, clicks Clean Up and gets a result, and then clicks Save to save the changes: Two uses are added to Used Quantity (two completed actions).

      • A user selects Generate and gets a result, then Make Shorter and gets a result, but then clicks Cancel without saving changes: Two uses are added to Used Quantity (all completed actions are counted, even if the user does not save the results).

      • A user types some text into a field, clicks Clean Up and gets a result, clicks Undo, but then clicks Redo: One use is added to Used Quantity (Undo and Redo are not counted).

      • A user clicks Generate, gets a result, and then clicks Make Longer but gets an error message: One use is added to Used Quantity (actions that result in an error message are not counted).

    Note:

The usage table will not show any data until Text Enhance is used at least one time successfully. Before Text Enhance is used, the usage table shows the message "No records to show."

The usage table is hidden when the Use OCI Configuration to Get Unlimited Usage box is checked.
