Multifactor Authentication in Bank Feeds
Financial institution accounts that support multifactor authentication (MFA) require additional proof to make sure it's you when you log in or do other transactions. Examples of MFA accounts include those that need two-factor authentication (2FA) or a one-time password.
The validity of your account's MFA token varies depending on your financial institution. Bank data import won't work if the system sees your MFA token is invalid or needs an update.
For example, some MFA account credentials are valid only for a certain number of login sessions or transactions. In this scenario, you'll need to reenter your login details and provide additional information in the bank feeds configuration setup to continue receiving daily bank updates.
To check your bank data import status and see which financial institution needs reauthentication, go to the Banking Import History page. To get to the Banking Import History page, go to Transactions > Bank > Banking Import History. You can also see when reauthentication is required on the Match Bank Data page when an MFA warning banner appears for the selected account.
You can reauthenticate from the Match Bank Data page when an MFA warning banner appears, or by updating your MFA token in the format profile. To renew the connection from the Match Bank Data page, see Renewing a Bank Connection after an MFA Error on the Match Bank Data Page.
To update your MFA token in your format profile, go to the Connectivity Configuration subtab. Then, under the Connections subtab, click the Refresh icon in the Update MFA column. For more information, see the following topics:
