Setting Up Exception Management

To use Exception Management (EM) in your Production account, you must enable two Advanced Features: Exception Management Models and Exception Management. Exception Management Models trains the AI models on your production data and must be enabled first. Exception Management then turns on the user interface so you can view, investigate, and resolve exceptions, and it depends on Exception Management Models being enabled.

Important:

Exception Management (EM) is currently a limited release feature that's not available to all customers. Eligibility depends on data volume and model training readiness; accounts with a large amount or insufficient historical data may be restricted. If you can't access Exception Management, contact your NetSuite Account Manager for guidance and next steps.

Note:

The setup steps below are for using Exception Management (EM) in your Production account. To use EM in a Sandbox account, see Working With Exception Management in Sandbox Accounts.

To enable Exception Management (EM):

After EM is enabled, models begin training on your historical transaction data (typically the last 18 months) to learn your patterns. EM then evaluates newly created or edited transactions hourly.

  1. Go to Setup > Company > Enable Features (Administrator) and click the Accounting subtab.

  2. Under Advanced Features, select Exception Management Models and Exception Management.

    Note:

Ensure the Accounting Periods feature under Basic Features is enabled before activating the above features. For more information, see Accounting Period Management.

  3. Click Save.
