What is NetSuite Next?
NetSuite Next is the next generation of NetSuite. NetSuite Next is a reimagined, AI-powered ERP that puts AI at the center of how your business runs.
Is NetSuite Next a completely new product?
No. NetSuite Next is the same platform used by thousands of organizations today. That means it's a single, unified data model across finance and operations with proven business processes, enhanced with AI and a modern user experience.
How do I get access to NetSuite Next?
The Get ready for NetSuite Next page shows you the NetSuite Next options available for your account. Administrators can use this page to request preview access to NetSuite Next, set up Ask Oracle in their current NetSuite account, and review frequently asked questions about NetSuite Next. When the Get ready for NetSuite Next page is available for an account, administrators will see a Choose how to get started with NetSuite Next banner after logging in to NetSuite.
NetSuite Next Preview Account
Question and answers on this page that relate to preview accounts may not apply to accounts that are already set up for NetSuite Next.
What is a NetSuite Next Preview Account?
A NetSuite Next Preview Account is a copy of your NetSuite production account in a separate, safe environment that includes your data, workflows, and customizations using the new NetSuite Next experience. Using a NetSuite Next Preview Account will not impact your NetSuite production account.
How long do I have access to the NetSuite Next preview account?
After your NetSuite Next preview account is set up, you can use it for 30 days. Don't worry though, you can always request a new preview account at any time again using the Choose how to get started with NetSuite Next banner.
Is the preview account available to all the users of my company?
Yes, all users can be given access to a preview account. Work with your stakeholders to set up a plan; you can phase access by role or take an all-at-once approach. Whatever works best for your company.
Customizations and Extensibility
Can Ask Oracle access the public internet?
No. Ask Oracle does not browse the public internet. It works within the configured AI model and your NetSuite instance. If you need external data sources or LLMs, the NetSuite AI Connector Service is recommended.
What can Ask Oracle do?
Ask Oracle is a conversational AI assistant that can provide answers, deliver insights, and take action using natural language. It works alongside you and understands your data, workflows, roles, and permissions.
Do I need separate ChatGPT or Claude licenses to use Ask Oracle?
No. Ask Oracle is included with your NetSuite license.
Can I use the NetSuite AI Connector Service with NetSuite Next?
Yes. The NetSuite AI Connector Service works alongside Ask Oracle. This lets you use NetSuite Next with external AI tools and additional data sources when needed.
Can NetSuite Next connect to third-party systems?
Yes. NetSuite Next supports integrations through pre-built NetSuite Connectors for common applications and the NetSuite Integration Platform for more complex or custom integrations.
Switching to NetSuite Next
Questions and answers related to switching to NetSuite Next only apply to accounts with the Exit NetSuite Next option in the profile menu.
What are the capabilities of NetSuite Next that make it different from NetSuite?
NetSuite Next is an evolution of your existing NetSuite experience and is built on the same trusted NetSuite cloud ERP you use to run your business today. It's the next evolution of the NetSuite experience, bringing together Ask Oracle, embedded AI capabilities, agents, and a redesigned user experience that redefines how you interact with NetSuite. You continue to use the same data, roles, permissions, workflows, and customizations, while gaining a more intelligent, intuitive, and efficient way to work.
What happens when users switch between NetSuite and NetSuite Next?
Both experiences use the same data, customizations, and workflows, so switching does not affect your data, transactions, or configurations.
What happens to customizations and scripts in NetSuite Next?
Scripts, custom records, workflows, and other customer built extensions are expected to continue working. Most custom scripts do not require changes, although some client scripts, form customizations, or portlet scripts that directly manipulate HTML or page structure may need review.
Will transactions created in one experience appear in the other?
Yes. Transactions and all your other data are stored in the same underlying account, so saved transactions and records are visible in both NetSuite and NetSuite Next.
Data Security and Trust
Can I trust AI with my business and financial data?
Yes. NetSuite Next is designed for control, auditability, and compliance. AI operates within your existing roles and permissions, so it cannot access or act beyond what the user is authorized to do. Outputs are transparent and link back to the underlying data for review and validation.
How is my data handled when using Ask Oracle and AI features?

How do AI features use customer data?
Features powered by OCI AI services, such as large language models (LLMs), use a customer's data to provide their services. For example, NetSuite Next uses OCI AI services to answer questions, generate summaries, and automate workflows for you (whatever specific functionalities you have requested), based on your data.
