Analyzing Trends in the CFO KPI Income Statement Dashboard

The CFO KPI Income Statement Dashboard displays the Income Statement key performance indicators (KPIs) by periods, quarter, or full-year. The dashboard also shows year-over-year percentage variances by KPI. The dashboard includes trend graphs that show:

• net income and earnings before interest and taxes (EBIT) trends

• revenue trends by Customer and Item

• OpEx trends by Account and Department

This section includes general instructions on how to use the following interactive subforms in the CFO KPI Income Statement Dashboard:

• YoY $ Change – Displays the Income Statement KPIs for the selected fiscal year. These KPIs include total revenue, cost of sales, earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortization (EBITDA), and net income.

  EBITDA is calculated as:

  EBITDA = (Ordinary Income ÷ Expense) + (Total Depreciation ÷ Amortization Expense)

• YoY % Change – Displays the year-over-year percentage variances for each Income Statement KPI for the selected Subsidiary, Currency, and Year.

• Rev/Exp/COGS Trend – Displays the Net Income trends.

• EBIT Trend – Displays the earnings before interest and taxes trend.

• Rev by Customer – Displays the revenue trends by Account for the Customer category. The subform includes the option to drill down to individual Customer trends.

• Rev by Item – Displays the revenue trends by Account for the Item category. The subform includes the option to drill down to individual Item trends.

• OpEx by Account – Displays the operating expense trends by expense Account for the selected expense Department. The form includes option to drill down to individual expense Account trends.

• OpEx by Department – Displays the operating expense trends by Department for the selected expense Account. The subform includes option to drill down to sub-department trends.

To analyze the Income Statement KPIs and trends:

You can maximize and refresh each trend graph individually by clicking the Maximize icon and Refresh icon in each subform , respectively.

1. From the Home page, click the Reporting and Analytics card.

2. To go to the CFO Dashboards, click the 4 tab on the left-hand side.

3. Click CFO KPI Income Statement Dashboard.

4. In the Point of View, select a Version, Subsidiary, Currency, and Year.

5. To apply the changes, click the Go icon .

6. Review the YoY $ Change and YoY % Change subforms. You can change the Period.

7. Review the trends within each interactive subform for the selected year.

8. (Optional) You can drill down further to individual trend details in the graphs for the following subforms:

   • Rev by Customer

   • Rev by Item

   • OpEx by Account

   • OpEx by Department

   To drill down further to the individual trend details of a particular subform, click a specific line in the subform's graph. Alternatively, click a specific name in the legend.

9. Hover over a series line in any one of the graphs to see the series name, period (group), and value.
