Scheduling Work Orders

Work order management helps control process workflow and increase operational visibility by organizing and tracking changes. It helps advance organizational efficiency and processes through improved productivity and customer service while producing actionable performance records.

To schedule a work order:

  1. Go to Transactions > Manufacturing > Enter Work Orders > List.

  2. Click Edit next to the work order you want to update.

  3. Complete the Advanced Manufacturing subtab:

    1. To mark this order as ready to release to the shop floor, check the OK to Release box.

    2. The AM Planned Start Date is automatically populated based on finite scheduling details.

    3. Beside the Date Approved by Planner field, check the calendar icon and then select the date the planner approved this order.

    4. To select the Work Order Complete Date, beside the field, check the calendar icon.

    5. To indicate that an order is not OK to Release, select the related Schedule Validation Hold Code.

    6. To indicate the progress of the project, enter a Job Status.

    7. To select the work order Batch Date, beside the field, click the calendar icon.

    8. Select a Planning Priority Code.

    9. If the work order traveler has already been generated, the Traveler Printed box is automatically checked.

    10. Enter the first operation Scheduled Start Time.

      You can find this in the Advanced Manufacturing schedule.

    11. To not load the record again, check the Process Flag box.

    12. To identify the type of assembly item associated with this work order, enter an Item Control Type.

    13. Select the AM Work Center NS for this work order.

    14. Select the Production Units Type for this work order.

    15. Select the Production Units for this work order.

  4. Click Save.
