Dynamic Extra Hours

Dynamic extra hours can be configured at a brand level, and changed at a location (or even just configured at a specific location).

Name the extra hours, assign it to a team, and select what days it applies to:

You can apply the extra hours to a fixed or relative period.

Fixed:

Adds these hours between the times you add here:

Relative period:

If there is a day part configured at the brand level, you can select the day part. Otherwise, you will only be able to select "Full day".

The next two options allow you to set how many extra hours you would like to add, relative to the period you selected:

Underneath the "relative to" drop-down, there are two rows with three options:

What this allows you to do is select the number of extra hours that you need either before or after the start or finish of the selected period.

The screenshot above has an example of what I have setup when I need employees to open the store each day. The options explained:

So this means it will suggest 2 extra hours before my open time, until the open time.

Employee count

This will apply X number of employees over that entire period.

It will be added to the +1/-1 15 minutely data

Fixed hours

Fixed hours will add x hours to the period defined above.

Prefer hours is where suggested shifts will use these hours first

For example, if you need 3 hours of setup in the two hours before open you can setup the times as per above and then enter three as the fixed hours, and the prefer hours would be set to at the finish of the period.

Demand-based hours

Demand-based hours are calculated based on the stats and allocated the same way fixed hours are allocated.

How this looks on the daily:

The first line shows the sales driven deployment with employee count

The second line shows the dynamic extra hours. 2.5 hours are available to be used before open, 7 hours are available to use anywhere during open hours, and 2 hours after close.

How the extra hours are used are up to the user creating the schedule. They are not required to be placed anywhere specific, except within the time period.

Opening hours:

Under Setup > Brands, select a brand and click the Details menu and select Hours to configure opening hours to be shared to all locations. Under Setup > Locations, select a location and click Scheduling > Opening hours to override the shared opening hours from the brand.
