Transferring Consigned Inventory

Based on your transfer requirements, you can use the following forms for vendor consigned items stored in your location:

• Transfer Order or Intercompany Transfer Order - On these forms, you can add items enabled for consigned inventory that you want to move between locations. You must check the Use Item Cost as Transfer Cost setting on the order since use of transfer pricing is not supported. After you fully or partially fulfill a transfer, you can't edit this setting anymore.

  If you don't check the Use Item Cost as Transfer Cost setting for consigned item transfers, you may encounter the following issues during fulfillment:

  • Consigned statuses don't appear even for items enabled for consigned inventory.

  • On fulfillments for transfers that include consigned quantities only, you can't enter inventory details, such as bins and statuses.

• Bin Transfer - For vendor consigned items in bins, you can create a bin transfer to move them between bins within the same location. In each line, add items enabled for consigned inventory and specify its consigned status in the inventory details. You can change the inventory status to either the Consigned - Good status or any of your other custom consigned statuses only.

  You can include non-consigned quantities of the same item in the same or separate line. You can also add separate lines for items not enabled for consigned inventory. To prevent an ownership transfer, you can't assign consigned inventory statuses to these non-consigned quantities and items, and vice versa.
