Fulfilling Orders for Consigned Inventory
When you generate item fulfillments from sales orders, transfer orders, and vendor returns, you can specify the consigned item quantities you want to fulfill. Based on the item lines of the associated transaction, you can assign or choose a different consigned status for consigned quantities. If the associated transaction contains only non-consigned quantities of an item, you can assign regular statuses only. To create fulfillments, see Fulfilling Orders.
Note the following guidelines for item fulfillments with consigned inventory:
-
You can fulfill full or partial quantities of an item from the order or return. For transfer orders, you can't fulfill more than the quantity on the order. See Fulfilling Transfer Orders.
-
Fulfillment requests are not supported.
-
Vendor consigned items for return that you have fulfilled are automatically credited, since they aren't paid yet to the vendor. For more information, see Returning Consigned Inventory to Vendors.
-
For any fulfilled consigned quantities from a sales order, NetSuite automatically transfers the ownership to your organization.
On associated purchase orders, you can view the fulfilled and sold quantities in the Consignment Consumed column of consigned item lines. For more information, see Creating Purchase Orders for Consigned Items.
