NextService is now Field Service Management

With the release of 2024.03.1, Next Service has been updated to Field Service Management. Across our bundle, several items have been updated to reflect this new name. These changes include:

  • The renaming of the center tab from “NextService” to “Field Service”

  • Relabeling of fields

  • Updating of records

  • Updating of subtabs from “NextService” to “Field Service”

  • The updating of the Mobile and Scheduler App titles from “NextService” to “Field Service”

  • The update of the Mobile and Scheduler App Icons

  • The renaming of the bundle from “Next Service” to “Field Service Management”

New Features and Enhancements

Mobile

The number block has been updated to support browser localisation, as well as some general improvements to how users interact with this block based off user feedback.

General

  • Field Service Suitelet Script Deployments now default to run under the Field Service System role rather than Administrator. Customers are required to give permissions to the Field Service System role for all custom records accessed by the Field Service Management apps.

  • The following default CSV import templates have been removed from the bundle:

    • NextService Asset Import

    • NextService Project Address Import

Note:

New service records are children to Asset, Project, Case, Task, and Project Task records and will appear on forms under the Field Service tab as a new sublist.

Bug Fixes

  • An issue was fixed that caused the Sales Order fields to reset when the Consolidate Jobs on Sales Transactions preference is disabled.

  • Resolved an issue where the scheduler Suitelet would not load when the departments feature was disabled.

  • IS01338: Resolved an issue where the confirmation alert for the Service Report only appeared on the original tab after navigating back from the newly opened preview tab.

  • IS01312: Fix a bug that allowed the month field can be set to a different month not matching the start date when using yearly recurrence.

  • IS01333: Added a popup to ensure the user is aware that recurrence instances will be deleted and new ones created when the start date is changed.

  • IS01116: A problem was resolved that caused the next case of a program project to not get created when the current case is completed and any completed case does not have Time Zone dates.

  • IS01350: Resolved an issue where elements with col-* classes are hidden on forms when screen width larger than 1024px.

  • IS01321: Fixed an issue where the new event form defaults do not reset when app is opened across more than one day.
