Variation Items in NetSuite Connector

Variation items are items are displayed in a single listing in your storefront with details for color, size, and other variations. Choosing a specific variation selects a specific SKU for the order.

Variation items in NetSuite are represented as the matrix item type, where you define parent, child, and variation fields, such as color, size, and others. Typically, a parent item contains most of the information about the listing including description, name, and other details. The child item represents each unique variation. Each child item can have fields overriding the parent's value and each child item must have its own unique SKU, as required by most storefronts. Using matrix items is the leading practice for tracking items by options in NetSuite.

For more information, see Matrix Items.

If the parent-child relationships of your items are already set up on the storefront, you can use virtual variations. For more information, see Virtual Variations in NetSuite Connector.
