Verify That Required Features are Enabled

When using Salesforce Connector, there are several features that need to be enabled in Salesforce and NetSuite for the syncs to function properly.

NetSuite Features and Preferences

A user with an Administrator role or the Set Up Company permission should be logged in to NetSuite to perform the following procedure.

Verify Required NetSuite Features are Enabled

  1. Go to Setup > Company > Setup Tasks > Enable Features to verify that all required features are enabled in your NetSuite account.

    Note:

If any of these features are not enabled, check the box to enable the feature.

  2. On the Company subtab, verify that the following features are enabled (that the boxes are checked):

    1. Under ERP General: Multiple Units of Measure.

    2. Under International: Multiple Currencies.

  3. Click the SuiteCloud subtab.

    1. Under SuiteBuilder, verify that the Custom Records and the Item Options boxes are checked.

    2. Under SuiteScript, verify that the Client SuiteScript and the Server SuiteScript boxes are checked.

    3. Under SuiteTalk (Web Services), verify that the SOAP Web Services and the REST Web Services boxes are checked.

    4. Under Manage Authentication, verify that the Token-based Authentication box is checked.

    Note:

When you newly enable a SuiteCloud feature, you are prompted to accept the SuiteCloud Terms of Service. Accept the terms of service to continue.

  4. Click Save.

  5. Go to Setup > Accounting > Accounting Preferences to verify the default account preferences.

  6. Click the Items/Transactions subtab.

  7. Verify the default account selections for Default COGS Account and Default Asset Account fields.

    Note:

If you are unable to select default Cost of Goods Sold (COGS) and asset accounts, you need to create them manually in NetSuite. To do so, go to Lists > Accounting > Accounts > New. For COGS, select the Cost of Goods Sold type and for the asset account, select Other Asset Account.

  8. If you make changes to the default account selections, click Save.

If you need more information about enabling these NetSuite features and preferences, see the following:

In your Salesforce account, the Multi-Currency Everywhere (MCE) feature is required. According to Salesforce documentation, the Multi-Currency Everywhere (MCE) was "enabled by default with the Winter '18 release for all existing orgs that met the criteria".

You need to ensure that multiple currencies is activated in the Company Information setup of your Salesforce account. For detailed steps on how to activate multiple currencies, refer to the Salesforce documentation.
