Setting Up the Parent Company

Complete the parent company setup before setting up the subsidiaries. The parent company setup is a one-time task.

To set up the parent company:

After the provisioning is complete, you can set up the subsidiaries.

1. Log in to NetSuite.

2. Go to Setup > Electronic Business > Avalara Setup.

3. On the OBN Authorization page, check the consent box.

4. Click Authorize.

5. Accept the OBN terms and conditions. The OBN Authorization success message appears.

6. Click Next to do OBN registration.

7. Review the Company Information, Address, and Contact Information sections.

8. In the Company Contact Information section, select the OBN Manager.

9. Click Register.

10. Click Next to do Avalara provisioning.

11. Review the Company Information, Address, and Contact Information sections.

12. Under the Company Contact Information section, select the Avalara Manager who is authorized to accept Avalara terms and conditions on behalf of the company.

13. Click Submit.

    The Avalara manager receives an email that includes:

    • Avalara account information.

    • Instructions for generating production and sandbox client credentials through the Avalara ELR portal.

14. In the Client Key Authorization section, enter the values in the following fields:

    • Production Client ID

    • Production Client Secret

    • Sandbox Client ID

    • Sandbox Client Secret

15. Click Submit. A success banner is displayed, indicating that Avalara provisioning is complete.
