Region-Based Wages for North America

Region-based wages are a set of convenience conditions built into WFM that are loaded by default into customer’s accounts within the United States.

Important:

These conditions do not guarantee your compliance with laws and regulations. You must validate that these rules meet your needs and own the process of configuring additional rules you need based on your local labor laws.

If you have any locations in a supported US state, you will see the rules from the Wage Rule Engine appear.

If the rules do not meet your business needs or if you require additional rules, you can assign your own region-based overrides.

For more information about the available preconfigured overrides for North America, see Definitions for Region-Based Overrides.

Structure of Region-Based Wages

Region-based wages are convenience based preconfigured wage rules to assist with region wage rules.

Region-based wages consist of the following components:

  • Revisions

  • Conditions

  • Multipliers

  • Penalties

  • Allowances

  • Locations

For more information about typical wage components, see Structure of a Wage Agreement.

Accessing Region-Based Wages or Overrides

To view your region-based wages or overrides follow the procedure.

To access region-based wages or overrides:

  1. Go to Workforce Management.

  2. Go to Setup > Wage.

A list of the available wages or overrides appears. Wage names that start with United States of America are the default region-based overrides that are preloaded with WFM.

If you created your own set of rules, your override appears on top of the preconfigured overrides.

  3. Click the wage or override you want to view. You cannot edit a preconfigured override.

You can see any updates and overtime rules that apply to your employees.

After you have set the wage on an employee profile, WFM calculates overtimes based on the percentages that are set in the Multipliers subtab.
