Making Tax Digital for VAT

Note:

This topic is for NetSuite accounts that use the Tax Reports (International) page to generate the United Kingdom VAT100 Return. If you are using the Country Tax Report page, see Making Tax Digital.

Effective on April 1, 2019, United Kingdom VAT-registered businesses with a taxable turnover above the VAT threshold must comply with the Making Tax Digital (MTD) system. With MTD, companies are required to keep and maintain digital records, prepare VAT Returns, and digitally submit the VAT100 Return through the VAT (MTD) API.

In NetSuite, United Kingdom VAT-registered companies can use the Making Tax Digital for VAT feature to keep their VAT records digitally, generate VAT Returns, and submit it online to His Majesty's Revenue and Customs (HMRC).

Note:

To use this feature, your NetSuite account must have the International Tax Reports installed.
