Using SMT Advanced Preview to Verify Personalized Catalog Views
This refers to SuiteCommerce or the 19.2 release of SuiteCommerce Advanced or later.
Site Management Tools Advanced Preview lets you see how your site appears to customers when Personalized Catalog Views (PCV) is enabled. You can select and apply customer segments to the preview to confirm that customers assigned to the segments can access the items they have permission to view or buy. You can also check that customers in those segments can't access items or prices that aren't available to them.
If you have a SuiteCommerce Advanced site, you can use website preview to see if different customer segments can view prices or buy items, but only if you're using the 20.2 or later release. If you're using SuiteCommerce Advanced 19.2 or 20.1, you can only preview items customers can buy.
You can access Site Management Tools Advanced Preview in two ways:
-
From the Customer Segments Manager in NetSuite, click Save & View Site and choose a domain from the dropdown list. This opens a new browser tab and logs you in to Site Management Tools on the site. By default, you're logged into the domain set as the primary URL. If there's no primary URL, you're logged into the first domain listed on the Domains tab in the website setup record.
Note:When you Save & View Site in the Customer Segments Manager, it triggers the site search index to be rebuilt. You won't see the changes in Site Management Tools until reindexing is done.
-
From within Site Management Tools, select Advanced Preview on the Site Management toolbar.
Preview Customer Segments in SMT
When you select Advanced Preview in Site Management Tools, the Advanced Preview Settings are displayed in the side panel. By default, no customer segments are selected, and all items and categories show up in the preview.
When you select one or more customer segments in the side panel and click Apply, the items in the preview are filtered to only those items that are available to the selected customer segments. The site category navigation also updates to match the conditional category display structure.
The Commerce Category Hide Empty Categories feature hides any category branches with no items. For details, see Exclude Empty Commerce Categories.
After you apply customer segments to the preview, you can use the site navigation to see which items are available to the selected customer segments.
To close Advanced Preview, click Advanced Preview in the Site Management toolbar.
