Setting Up a Route

After you define the truck records, you define routes on which the trucks would run. A route contains the following information:

Order Cutoff Time

Order cutoff time is the cutoff time for accepting the sales orders for the day to deliver to the specific route. You can set this time when setting up the route. If you do not set this time in the Route record, NetSuite checks for the time set in the Order Cutoff Time field in the Location page. If neither of the fields have the cutoff time set, then the cutoff time is considered as 11:59 p.m. for that route.

To set up a route:

  1. Go to Lists > Route Management > Routes > New.

  2. In the Route Name field, enter a name for the truck.

    Note:

The route name must be unique across all the subsidiaries.

  3. In the Subsidiary field, select the subsidiary that you want to associate with this route.

  4. From the Ship from Location list, select the location that you want to associate with this route.

The Location Time Zone field displays the time zone of the selected location.

  5. (Optional) To set the cutoff time for the route, enter the time in the Order Cutoff Time field.

  6. In the Delivery Days field, change the days of the week on which the route operates. To select more than one day, press Ctrl and select the days that you want to select.

    Note:

By default, Monday to Friday are selected.

  7. To add stops for the route, update the following fields in the sublist:

    • Route Stop # - Enter the route stop number.

    • Customer - Select a customer for the stop.

    • Delivery Address - Select the delivery address of the customer.

    • Delivery Time - From and Delivery Time – To – Enter the expected delivery time range for the stop.

    Note:

In Route view mode, you can view only 25 stops per route. However, there is no change in functionality even if there are more than 25 stops per route. The information for stops is available in edit mode for users.

  8. Click Add.

  9. Click Save.

You can also import routes using the Import CSV Records feature. For more information, read Importing CSV Files with the Import Assistant.
