FAM Diagnostics Portlet

The FAM Diagnostics portlet shows the health of your FAM bundle, from your dashboard. FAM Diagnostics displays the processes that require action, what to do to correct it, when it was last corrected, and by whom. You can also scan the processes to see if there is anything that needs to be remedied. The following processes are available in FAM Diagnostics:

• Precompute Depreciation Values — This process generates depreciation schedule values that aids in optimizing the depreciation process. The depreciation values are automatically generated for assets created from an asset proposal, but not for assets created manually or through CSV import.

• Reset Asset Values — Asset reset is required when there are changes in the asset that affects the depreciation formula like changes in the asset life or asset cost, for example. Since the depreciation values will no longer be accurate, an Asset Reset must be run to delete the stale depreciation histories.

• Check Missing Summaries — A BG Summary record tracks the depreciation histories with the same subsidiaries, department, class, location, and currency. The depreciation process cannot proceed if the depreciation histories are missing the BG Summary record.

• Check Missing Asset Values Record — Depreciation values may not be generated if the asset does not have an Asset Values record. The following scenarios cause missing Assets Values record:

  • The assets are added through CSV import when server scripts are not running.

  • The assets are modified to remove the associated Asset Values record.

  • The Asset Values record is deleted.

• Check Missing Lease Contracts — Lease payments may have missing contracts if they are added through CSV import when the server scripts are not running.

• Check Missing DHRs without Associated Records — Depreciation history records (DHRs) that are not associated to an Asset or Asset Values record may cause issues during asset depreciation. DHRs may be orphaned in the following scenarios:

  • Users manually delete the Asset or Asset Values record.

  • The DHR is modified outside of FAM transactions.

Note:

FAM Diagnostics is available to the Administrator and Fixed Assets Manager roles by default. Other roles must add the FAM Recent Diagnosis permission to view the FAM Diagnostics portlet. For more information, see Form Permissions for Fixed Assets Management.
