Disabling Automatic UPC Code Assignment

To prevent automatic UPC code assignment, use the following steps:

To disable automatic assignment of a UPC code to an item:

  1. When creating items through the NetSuite interface, check the Exclude from Auto Assign UPC box on the Item UPC subtab.

  2. When importing item record through CSV, make sure to:

    1. Include the Exclude from Auto-Assign UPC field in the CSV file and set it to Yes.

    2. During import, in the Import Options step, expand Advanced Options and ensure that the Run Server SuiteScript and Trigger Workflows box is checked.

Important:

If you do not check the Exclude from Auto Assign UPC box, an item created will remain inactive until a UPC code is assigned to it.
