Budget Portlet

The Budget portlet in Project 360 Dashboard shows the Baseline and EAC budget KPIs and their graph representation.

The following screenshot shows the Budget portlet and its budget tiles and graphs:

Budget Tiles

  • Baseline vs. Initial Baseline – This KPI tile displays a current baseline budget and the difference in percentage value against the first baseline budget. A difference in percentage value is shown when you rebaseline a budget.

If you start with a zero baseline budget and then adjust it to a different amount later, the zero baseline budget remains the initial baseline budget.

  • EAC vs. Previous EAC – This KPI tile displays a current EAC budget and the difference in percentage value against the previous EAC budget. When you create a new EAC budget version, a difference in percentage value is shown on the tile.

If you set a new baseline budget, the new baseline budget also becomes the new EAC budget.

Budget Graphs

The budget portlet can display two types of graphs:

  • Bar Graphs – If both baseline and EAC budgets use global timeline type, bar graphs are shown in the portlet. Bar graphs are also shown when one of the budgets is set to global timeline type.

  • Line Graphs – If both baseline and EAC budgets use monthly timeline type, line graphs are shown in the portlet. The monthly timeline type breaks down your budget into months so you can track Actuals against monthly estimations.

For more information, see Project Work Breakdown Structure (WBS).

The bar or line graphs on the portlet shows the data for the following KPIs:

  • Baseline – A baseline captures a snapshot of your original estimates for the project plan before any work begins.

  • Actuals – The Actuals represent the financial transactions recorded for the duration of the project. These transactions include both the actual costs and the committed costs related to the budget lines.

  • EAC – The Estimate at Completion shows the forecasted overall cost of the project at completion.
