Viewing SaaS Key Performance Indicators

Key performance indicators (KPIs) for your company such as the monthly recurring revenue (MRR), annual recurring revenue (ARR), total customer count, new customer count, churn rate, and renewal rate for the current month can be viewed on the SaaS Metrics dashboard as tiles.

Note:

The KPI tiles always show data for the current month, regardless of the filter selection.

To view SaaS key performance indicators:

  1. Go to Reports > SaaS Metrics > Dashboard.

  2. (Optional) Set filters for the dashboard reports. For more information, see Using Filters in the SaaS Metrics Dashboard.

  3. Go to the Key Performance Indicators section on the dashboard. The following information are displayed as tiles:

    • MRR – The MRR tile displays the monthly recurring revenue for the current month.

      This value is the same as the Total for the current month as seen in the MRR roll forward report.

      MRR for the current month is compared against the MRR from the previous month and the percentage difference is displayed.

    • ARR – The ARR tile displays the annual recurring revenue for the current month.

      This value is the same as the Ending Balance for the current month as seen in the ARR roll forward report.

      ARR for the current month is compared against the ARR from the previous month and the percentage difference is displayed.

    • Total Customers – The Total Customers tile displays the total number of customers for the current month.

      This value is the same as the Total for the current month as seen in the Customer Count report.

      The total number of customers for the current month is compared against the total number of customers from the previous month. The percentage difference of customers from the previous month versus the current month is displayed.

    • New Customers – The New Customers tile displays the total number of new customers for the current month.

      This value is the same as the New Logos for the current month as seen in the Customer Count report.

      The total number of new customers for the current month is compared against the total number of new customers from the previous month and the percentage difference is displayed.

    • Churn Rate – The Churn Rate tile displays the rate of subscriptions or contracts that are canceled or are not renewed for the current month.

      The churn rate is based on the ARR roll forward report and is computed as the ARR churn amount for the current month divided by the ARR beginning balance for the current month and multiplied by 100.

      The churn rate for the current month is compared against the churn rate for the previous month and the percentage difference is displayed.

    • Renewal Rate – The Renewal Rate tile displays the rate of subscriptions or contracts that have been renewed for the current month.

      The renewal rate is computed as 100% minus the churn rate.

      The renewal rate for the current month is compared against the renewal rate for the previous month and the percentage difference is displayed.
