Viewing the New vs. Churn Customer Count

The SaaS Metrics dashboard has a line graph and a table that lets you see new customers and customers that have canceled their contracts or otherwise considered as churn customers. The line graph and the table display new and churn customers per month for the current year.

To view the new vs. churn customer count:

  1. Go to Reports > SaaS Metrics > Dashboard.

  2. Scroll to the New vs. Churn graph.

The new and churn logo counts are displayed on the y-axis and are plotted against the months of the current year.

  3. Scroll to the Customer Count report.

The following information are displayed in the table:

    • Starting Count – This row displays the starting number of customers for a given month.

    • New Logos – This row displays the number of new customers with contracts for a given month.

A customer is considered as a new customer on the first month of his first contract as it appears in the SaaS Contract Transactions record, such as a sales order chosen as primary record in the Preferences page.

If a customer's initial contract is June 1, 2024 to December 31, 2024, the customer is considered as a new logo in June 2024.

    • Churn Logos – This row displays the number of customers that have canceled or have not renewed their subscriptions or contracts for a given month.

A customer is considered as a churn customer on the next month after his contract is canceled.

If a customer's initial contract is June 1, 2024 to December 31, 2024, the customer is considered as a churn customer in January 2025.

    • Total – This row displays the total number of customers when the starting count and new logo counts are added and subtracted with the churn logo count.
